hese days it feels like every videogame has some form of cards in it – but no set of digital
rectangles will ever quite match the feeling of building a physical collection of cards. Whether you’re creating decks from your cherished favourites, playing tense and tactical tabletop bouts, or just seeking out every last card to complete your library, Trading Card Games (or TCGs for short) are a seriously satisfying hobby. A great game to start with
is the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG. Based on the anime of the same name, it features a huge roster of weird and wonderful monsters to summon and spells to cast, from Galaxy Clerics to the Necrovalley Throne. Each match is a tense duel in the style of the series, full of
twists, turns, and clever combos as you pit your best decks against each other.

up the Codebreaker Starter Deck. Inside you’ll fi nd a Beginner’s Guide booklet, a playmat for your battles, and a pre-made deck, so you can start right away. From there, you can start building your collection with boosters. Each one gives you a random set of cards, allowing you to

an entirely new one, bringing more of your own personality and
style to your matches. For Yu-Gi-Oh, the Soul Fusion or Hidden Summoner boosters are a great way to go. But hey, maybe you’re more into martial arts and Spirit Bombs than

Yu-Gi-Oh Few trading card games can beat Yu-Gi-Oh for sheer variety. There are countless diff erent decks and tactics to try out, with cards featuring everything from robot dragons, to Norse gods, to evil hamburgers.
Pokémon This is a great pick for anyone who loves the Pokémon videogames or anime series, and because it’s one of the most popular TCGs out there, you should never have any trouble fi nding people to play against.
