Final Fantasy VII is one of those all-time classics of gaming, but for anyone who missed it


– or wants to revisit Midgar the way they remember it looking in 1997 – Square Enix have you covered. The remake brings back


familiar faces such as Cloud and Aeris, as well as all the motorbikes, minigun arms, and impractically large swords you’d expect. But it’s all been rebuilt from the ground up, with gorgeous graphics, a tweaked story, and a brand- new combat system

The Animal Crossing games have always been an oasis of calm – you move into a village filled with chatty animals to befriend, and lead a quiet life of fishing, bug catching, and interior design. New Horizons, the series’ Switch debut, is going one step further by sending your character on holiday to a desert island. It’s not all chilling on beaches and eating


ice cream, though. You pick a spot on the island and start building up your very own village, scooping up supplies you find in the world and crafting them into furniture using the new ‘DIY Recipes’ feature. Throw in local and online multiplayer that supports up to eight players, and you’ve got the makings of a wonderful holiday when the game launches on 20 March.
