CREED ‘EM AND WEEP

Gods & Monsters? Ubisoft’s new adventure is all Greek to us

The Assassin’s Creed games have always featured fantastical elements (we’re not sure that hay bales are really that effective at cushioning a fall) but with the introduction of gorgons and cyclopes to Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, the series climbed to the very top of plausible history and dived deep into Greek mythology. Apparently it stuck, because

the same devs are now making a new game that puts those gods – and,

Anything to avoid writing the last book, eh George?

A SONG OF ICE AND BONFIRES

If the Game of Thrones finale left you hungry for more, there’s good news. George R. R. Martin, author of the book series, has partnered with FromSoftware – creators of Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Sekiro – to create a new fantasy world. Details are light for now, but the

announcement promises a grand epic of hulking creatures, world-ending threats, and more medieval weapons than you can shake a mace at. Plus a man wearing a severed arm on the end of his own – just the kind of grisly imagery you’d expect from this team-up. The game itself will feature an open world,

a heavier emphasis on RPG elements, and the challenging combat that FromSoftware are known for. When you play the game of Elden Ring, you win or you die.

GHOUL 08

yes, monsters – front and centre. You play a forgotten champion of Olympus on a quest to save Zeus and co, facing off against hydras, harpies, and some rather fiendish puzzles in a gorgeous open world that looks like it could have been painted on the inside of a temple. Gods & Monsters could be just the hero we need when it launches on 25 February.

Harping on The Greek gods have fallen victim to a serpentine giant known as the Typhon.

RUNNINGS The people of Tokyo are disappearing. What’s to blame – demons, ghosts, evil

spirits? The answer, in Ghostwire: Tokyo, is all of them – and you’ll be fighting against these forces with a range of spectral abilities. This upcoming spooktacular from the team behind The Evil Within is full of mystery, and we can’t wait to uncover it.
