Perfect Partner Show off your DedSec credentials with the Resistant of London, standing 26cm tall with a swappable noggin

elcome to London, where everything’s gone a bit Pete Tong. Surveillance drones

hover overhead, protestors gather in Trafalgar Square, armed rozzers stand ready to shoot on sight… it’s yer classic Orwellian dystopia, guvnor. Luckily, there’s also a resistance, in the form of Watch Dogs’ hacktivist group DedSec. That’s where you come in, sunshine. So, who exactly do you

play as? Well, the whole of London. Not all at once, mind, but Legion’s big idea is that every single person on the streets can become the playable character – they just need recruiting to DedSec. Scan someone with your hacking device and it’ll call up a schedule showing their movements around town, a web of relationships, their recent search history – a whole simulated life. You can even snoop a look at their perks, weaknesses, and how they might be convinced to join the resistance. So you stroll through a Camden pub,

scanning for likely prospects. That bloke playing darts? Nah, vulnerable to melee damage. What about him behind the bar? Just looks a bit funny. And then you spot her – the granny in the corner. Turns out she’s a retired assassin. Perfect.

Hack of all trades Some recruits specialise in hacking,

while others are natural brawlers or sneakers. You’ll want to build a well-rounded gang before taking on the authorities – not least because, if one of your team dies, they’ll stay dead forever, meaning you’ve got to go on the hunt for a new specialist. With Ubisoft touting a

city of roughly nine million characters to play as, though, there’s no shortage of potential

recruits. “We’re not confirming an exact number,” explains Legion’s lead producer Sean Crooks, “because it’s an insane amount. But I guarantee you it’s probably well beyond that.” You’ve got the entire real-world population of London to play with. Including the granny assassins.
