he Ghosts are at it again. Not the wailing, sheet-wearing kind, but Tom Clancy’s military special
forces group last seen in 2017’s Wildlands. We pick up with them behind enemy lines, on the fictional Pacific island of Auroa, in pursuit of new big bad, Colonel Cole D. Walker, played by Jon Bernthal. You might know Bernthal as the
Punisher in Marvel’s Netflix shows, and once again he’s playing an ex-soldier. Unlike Frank Castle, though, Walker is a rather chatty fellow, fond of a good old-fashioned bad guy monologue, and Bernthal gives him a certain unhinged charm. We’d almost be reluctant to hunt him down if it wasn’t for his as ol

you risk being slowed down or having your shooting arm go bad.
Clancy footwork The odds are stacked against the Ghosts,
but luckily, there are plenty of ways to level the playing field. Or roll around in it, in the case of new camouflage abilities that allow you to cover yourself in mud to hide from drone flyovers. If you’re eager to take the battle to the enemy, the arsenal is freshly stocked with EMP grenades, rocket launchers, and special abilities based on the class you’ve picked: a smokescreen for the stealthy Panther or explosive anti-vehicle
rounds for the Sharpshooter. There’s also the assistance of
nasty chums, the Wolves. They’re elite soldiers who’ll gun down the unfortunate Ghosts with ruthless efficiency, assisted by an army of flying drones, self-driving tanks, and even a sort of angry robotic quad bike. And if any of the above hit you, you’ll need medical attention or else
your comrades, at least if you’re playing
online. You can fill out the squad with four specialists, who will level up their chosen character and gear over time. Taking down that rogue colonel and his Wolves suddenly doesn’t sound so bad. Bernthal, you’re going down.
